Often confused with the more common Premier System (Peterson's mid-tier silver-mounted system pipes), the Premier Selection is an entirely different beast.

• A Rare Classic: Introduced in 1953 via the official US distributor Rogers Imports and discontinued around 1981, this series was created as a standalone high-grade line dedicated strictly to classic shapes (Classic Range), without the system reservoir or military mount.

• The American High-Grade Campaign: Aimed primarily at the American market to compete with the top-tier Dunhill and Comoy’s shapes of the era, the Premier Selection is significantly rarer today on the estate market than its contemporary counterpart, the DeLuxe series.

• Superior Briar & Finish: Carved from select-grade briar blocks, these pipes boast dense, high-quality grain with no visible fills. This particular pipe features the series' signature mellow, rich chestnut-brown smooth finish, beautifully highlighting the natural grain of the briar.

• Historical Logo Details: As documented in the definitive research by Mark Irwin and Gary Malmberg (The Peterson Pipe), the Premier Selection was among the very first lines to introduce the stamped metal "P" logo (in brass or aluminum) on the vulcanite stem, a hallmark of Peterson's mid-century ephemera.
